About Celtic Southern Cross

At Celtic Southern Cross we regularly come into contact with musicians wishing to learn more about their instruments and the Music. We have made an effort to provide tutors and advice to people around Australia and New Zealand, but this advice has always been limited to our knowledge.

With the Tasmanian establishment in 1999 of the Celtic Summer School Music Under the Mountains we are able to make available Classes for those wishing to take their playing further. The School moved to Campaspe Downs in Victoria in 2007,  and is now called Music Under the Southern Cross, but continues just to get better and better.
Classes will be held January 20th - 25th, 2013  in Advanced Scottish Fiddle, Intermediate Scottish, Irish Fiddle, Tin Whistle, Celtic Harp, Traditional Singing (with a Master Class as an extra option), English Concertina, Canadian Fiddle, Scottish Piano, Mandolin.  Folk Ensemble Class as well for flutes, fiddles, and various other instruments. The demand for classes is great so students are encouraged to register early. For further details please go to our Summer School site.

Celtic Southern Cross was established to assist people to learn to play and to listen to the wonderful and growing traditions of Celtic music. Many of the items in this catalogue have previously been unavailable in Australia. We are attempting to stock the best of the Celtic music available, as well as tutors for most folk instruments. Most items will be on your doorstep within one week of our receiving your order (sorry allow nearly two - three weeks now as Australia Post seems to have slowed down somewhat lately)
We stand by our products. If you have any recommendations or complaints please let us know. It is through talking to us that we are able to recommend with confidence when people request advice.

Celtic Southern Cross is made up of singer, fiddler, autoharpist and guitarist Beth Sowter, and mandolin, mandola, Irish tenor banjo, and English concertina player Mike Watts. There is a wealth of information for you to tap into.beth and mike at music under the southern cross
