Gajda Tunes of Macedonia

This book notates the dance music of Northern Greece. Anne and Rob have
been studying the traditional music of the Balkans for twenty years and have
recorded and learned some of the greatest traditional musicians in the
villages of Northern Greece. They play for Greek dance groups in Melbourne and
for regional associations around Australia.
The Gajda is a bagpipe played in Northern Greece, Bulgaria, Macedonia and
Turkey. The tunes have been transcribed for a gajda with a drone and tonic on
A. This sets he tunes suitable for instruments that can play the keys of D and
G though the Gajda is not a tempered instrument.
