Congratulations to Danny Spooner and Mike Keran

Traditional singer, Danny Spooner, is embarking on a tour with fiddler 
Mike Keran (fiddle), Richard Tognetti (artistic director and lead 
violin) and the Australian Chamber Orchestra to present a program called 
*ENCHANTED.* The program includes pieces by Brahms, Bach and Paganini 
interspersed with traditional folk song. Two contemporary compositions 
are in the song list: "Newell Highway" by John Warner and Bill Scott's 
"Innisfail Song" commonly known as "Hey Rain". The tour starts at the 
Sydney Opera House on Sunday afternoon 3rd June - there are other dates 
in Sydney, Thirroul, Newcastle, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane

	Emu Creek Bush Band Vol. 1 Back to Goornong CD Price $20 Bendigo6 cd	The Emu Creek Bush Band is the musical arm of the Bendigo Dance & Music Club. A major part of the band's function has been to collect, play and record the old tunes which were once common in the bush. 	Wongawilli Australian Traditional Dance Tunes Double CD Price $40	Wongawilli have become well known throughout Australia for it performances at major folk festivals - Woodford, Maleny, Port Fairy, Victor Harbour, Jamberoo, George Town and the National Folk Festival. The double CD includes 85 tunes arranged in 23 sets for bush dances. The dances are not called. The tunes come from the early Australian folk tradition.

	Chris Duncan and Muriel Johnson Sandy Ower The Sea CD Price $25 CDM001 cd	Born in Australia of Scottish descent, Chris is regarded here as one of the finest exponents of the art of playing for dances, performing concerts and conducting fiddle workshops. Muriel is well known worldwide for her work in traditional Scottish music. The two have teamed up to produce a delightful and sensitive CD. The tracks on this album include all that is best in Scotland's rich heritage of traditional music, brought to life by the combination of fiddle and piano. 	Declan Affley Australian Folk Archive vintage live recordings CD Price $30 AFA001 cd	This album is compiled from early, and in many cases, historical recordings, and has been digitally remastered to give as good a quality as possible. The songs and the man are all that matters, however, and this is a pure delight for those who knew Declan and his music and humour. 17 songs and some fiddle tunes, with the finale being the very moving Mise Eire with Declan and about 20 of his musical friends including the late wonderful Chris Wendt on whistle, and Louis McManus on mandolin. 	Gary Shearston Only Love Survives CD Price $27 RR3 cd	This is Gary's 30th recording. He is an icon of Australian folk from the early 60's. 	Spoot O'Skerry Noxious Reeds CD Price $25 SOS01 cd	This fine young group won the prestigious Chris Wendt Award at the 2002 National Folk Festival in Canberra. The group brings together outstanding young musicians in Evan Davies flute and bagpipes, his sister Sarah Davies fiddle, Dave Foster guitar and fiddle and Sam Martin double Bass. 	Colcannon Dolphin Bay CD Price $30 TRAX263 cd	The 2002 album featuring songs written by John Munro, Pete Tichener, Don Holderness, all band members, plus some traditional songs and one titled We work the black seam, written by Sting who has always said that popular and folk music have much to learn from each other. 	Jim MacQuarrie Time Can't Ease CD Price $22 JM1 cd	Jim is a strong supporter of the Folk Alliance of Australia, and this well-produced album of songs features great standards like Stan Rogers' Mary Ellen Carter and Si Khan's What will I leave? Jim has written some fine songs of his own for this album and with Dave O'Neill both producing the album, and playing guitar, mandolin and bouzouki, Jim has a great time re-discovering both his Canadian roots, and his Australian interests. 	Tom Ward Tasmanian Sunrise CD Price $20 tom1 cd	Tom was born in Tasmania in 1983. His musical interests are varied resulting since 1996 in many original compositions and guitar arrangements. He is recognised as a delightful performer and inspiring composer of classical and flamenco guitar. He received the Composer of the Year Award 2000, from the Australian Society of Musicology and Composition for "Tasmanian Sunrise".
