  A'Chording to the Tunes - A Cape Breton Piano Accompaniment Lesson

Traditional Cape Breton music is now well respected and it includes a unique style of piano accompaniment. Cape Breton player Tracy Dares has become well known for this style through touring and recording with Natalie MacMaster. She has also released a CD called Crooked Lake.
This instructional video begins with a solo performance by Tracy, followed by piano accompaniment  to a jig, a march, a strathspey and a reel. For the intermediate piano student interested in Cape Breton accompaniment style, this lesson highlights some of the technical elements and provides the student with a mini-repertoire.
Video includes an 8 page booklet with transcriptions and musical notation for rhythms, chord voicings and bass lines..
